Programs at First Baptist KalamazooA Caring Fellowship of Worship, Service and Learning since 1836 click on the links below to go to each individual page First Friends Free Playgroup for kids ages 0-4 and their parents (on break for the summer, please check back) YACK (Youth Arts Camp of Kalamazoo) click on this link to go to the YACK page Soup Kitchen meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:45 a.m. in the FBC kitchen. Volunteers make in excess of 50 dozen cookies, numerous pots of soup, and tuna casserole, then take it to Ministry With Community to feed the homeless. Volunteers are always welcome! Al-Anon FBC supports Al-Anon by providing space in the church to hold weekly meetings every Saturday @ 9 a.m. Meetings are open. Call 343-4328 for more information. A.W.A.R.E. (Active Women Advocating and Reaching for Empowerment) FBC offers meeting space for AWARE to hold weekly group meetings. Call 382-9820 for more information. ALTRUSA Club of Kalamazoo ALTRUSA, an all women community service club, meets bi-weekly in FBC's Clough Room. Call 349-0734 for more info. Christmas Angel Tree FBC puts up an Angel tree every year at Christmas time. For two years the recipients have been the residents at The Homestead and Shalom group homes for adults with developmental disabilities. Each angel shaped ornament has a gift wish on it. Members of the congregation choose an angel and purchase that gift. Gifts are then delivered to the home on or about Christmas Eve.
