First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, relating to the American Baptist Churches in the USA, worships God, seeks after inspiration through the Holy Spirit, and serves Christ in ministry to members, friends, and others in need.

Every Sunday we worship the goodness of God together.  Our church building is made from brick and mortar, but inside those heavy doors are real people, searching for answers about faith and the word of God.  This is where we work together to find those answers.  Jesus didn't turn anyone away, neither do we.

Worship services are on Sundays at 10:55 am beginning with a time of welcome and announcements.

Small group studies for adults begin at 9:45 a.m. The summer schedule varies.

Children are part of the worship service.  After the Children's Moment children ages infant - 5 years may be dismissed to the nursery.  A Sunday School teacher will escort children grades K - 5 to the classroom next to the nursery for Sunday School.  Children may attend Sunday School or stay in worship.

At First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, you are not expected to have "arrived" morally or spiritually. You are not required to accept a narrow creed or list of tightly-packaged doctrines. You are asked only to be yourself, a mixture of faith and doubt, strengths and weaknesses, dreams and frustrations ~ and to yearn and hope to grow in your understanding of God, other people, and yourself.

At any point in your spiritual journey you'll  experience the encouragement and acceptance of a vibrant,progressive christian community. Regardless of your generation... no matter your history... this is a church where there is a time and place for you. We want you to come as you are.
